A Message from Patrice:
I’m proud to announce that I’ve partnered with Music Business How To (MBHT) on their quest to bring transparency to the music business.
If you follow me online or have chatted with me, then you know I’ve been quite displeased with the landscape of the business online and offline. “Gurus” are poppin’ up left and right, regurgitating the same ole info they learned yesterday, just to appear as if they know what they’re doing. What they also fail to do is actually SHOW you how to do some of the things they teach.
As an educator and Professor (formerly SAE Institute – Chicago), I strongly believe in being transparent and not only telling artists what they should be doing, but also providing tangible and detailed instructions on how to it. I did this professionally in an academic environment for 3.5 years.
Given that, I reached out to Brianna DeMayo of Taste Creators (we’ve known each other for about 5 years) for one of our “catch up” calls. At that time, I learned that she was in the process of launching her idea that she shared with me a few years ago. Considering where I was at in my music career, it just made sense to loop my content and educational pieces into MBHT.
The truth is, you don’t have to have a huge fan base to make money. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on a publicist to get featured on a blog. You don’t have to pay to perform. You don’t have to pull some publicity stunt to go viral and you don’t have to get signed to a label to get put on. The truth is, all of those things are myths.
The music business has changed, so your strategy must change with it. And we’re here to help you.
Music Business How To (MBHT) is a huge database of knowledge and resources that artists can utilize to build a successful music career on their own terms. In addition, it’s also a mentorship program and accountability partner for artists who feel like they’re on this journey alone.
We want to help you win, on your own terms AND show you how to do it.
