Meet The Founder
Patrice K. Cokley, MBA
Founder / Owner
Patrice K. Cokley is a Brand Strategist, Digital Marketer, Project Manager and Music Business Specialist. Holding both a BS and MBA in Marketing, Patrice took the entrepreneurial route to kickoff her career by serving local small business owners, entrepreneurs, artists and entertainers for nearly 10 years. During that time, she has gained practical experience in the areas of digital marketing, event coordinating, public relations, graphic design and web design.
As a Detroit native who played the piano as an adolescent and started her collegiate years as a Music major with a strong passion for the Music Business, Patrice knew it was time to bridge the gap between her profession and passion by launching The Bassline Group, a brand management and music consulting company.
Patrice is known for her undeniable work ethic, passion for learning and educating, and pushing others to achieve their dreams. She doesn’t just talk about it, she actually does it.
With her most notable client being Mathew Knowles (Beyoncé & Solange’s dad/former manager), Patrice has been a featured speaker at Soho House Chicago, 2112/Chicago Urban League, LakeFX Chicago, Social Media Week Chicago, Sprout Social, and other events.
In addition to consulting artists, she is a Product Education Specialist for music rights administration platform, TuneRegistry; contributing author for the latest music business textbook by Martin Atkins called Band:Smart; a college professor at SAE Institute: Chicago where she teaches Entertainment Marketing within the Music Business Program; and a brand ambassador for Lugz footwear.
