The Famous Fe Chi
The Famous Fe Chi, born Ja’Lisa Bri’Anna Hemmingway on November 29, 1996, is an american music producer that creates trap-inspired pop beats born and raised on the southside of Chicago, IL. Being the cousin of the late Rick James, Fe Chi (pronounced “fay shy”), became interested in music at an early age from growing up in an environment infused with the sounds of Mary J. Blige, NWA, Eminem, 50 Cent, Tupac and many more.
Having shown interest in becoming an actor and lawyer, she later chose to, instead, turn to music as a way to make money and to stay out of trouble after witnessing the murder of her father in 2007.
While enrolled at Columbia College Chicago as a Music Business Management major with a minor in Marketing, she’s had the pleasure of working with Chief Keef’s producers (CB Mix and Young Chop), and later landed her first placement with emerging rapper CupcakKe whose album was claimed to be “one of the best albums of the year” by Rolling Stone.
Since then, she has worked with Atlantic Records recording artist Spenzo, numerous local artists, established relationships with many mainstream artists, and appeared in 2 of her client’s music videos (L Gado’s “Too Cocky” & Famous Dex’s “Pick It Up’). While building her brand, she takes pleasure in offering her clients value and being resourceful in the music industry.
